I run a special passion project called GIFTED GENERATION COMMUNITY INITIATIVE. It is a youth-oriented project that challenges, motivates and empowers young people in disadvantaged, inner-city communities to tap into their strength & power; reach beyond the limitations imposed on them by their disadvantaged backgrounds to create needed change in their community. GIFTED GENERATION targets at-risk youths in low-income communities who struggle daily with poverty.
Using
AJEGUNLE community as take-off
point, GIFTED GENERATION, which was
founded
in August 2005 with just four members, currently boasts of a 1000
strong youth membership, and has reached out to more than 100,000 young people
in AJEGUNLE community through
various programs and projects.
The
vision is to reach out to and cause visible
impact and change in the lives of one
million youths in this targeted community by 2025 and then to duplicate our work in other low-income communities
across Nigeria.
Our ultimate ambition
is to see communities and young people free from unemployment and poverty,
illiteracy, violence, drug abuse and other high-risk behaviours.
